I check the movies forum at least every 10-15 minutes throughout the day and read through my twitter feed even more often than that. Make sure you are following all the hollywood news twitter accounts, ie Hollywood Reporter, Deadline, etc. Basically as you have been doing, if I see a news item (studio acquisition, actor/director attachment, trailer release, etc) and the film is less than 50, I buy max. If its more than 50 I am a little more careful. The most important step howerver, is once you have purchased the stock, you must follow it constantly during the day on http://theun4gven.com/hsx/daily.php?sec=mdarn.Ā As soon as I see the price gain start to level out I sell immediately. I never hold onto any stock longer than 12 hours because after that point many traders cash out their gains and make the price go down. Plus overnight you have to worry about reset traders targeting any movie that had large gains the previous day and shorting them. At your port size you should be able to afford 100k shares of most things that come up, but really do the best you can to get those low priced stocks once a news item hits (JCKIE yesterday for example)
At the end of the day I just reverse my holdings on everything that made money for me that day and short them. I wake up in the morning, cover all those shorts and start all over again. Only exception is for a news item that hits later in the day (UNDW5 yesterday for example) I will sometimes gamble and hold long on these to give other time zones a chance to see the news and invest. But then I sold immediately this morning.
Invest in all news items, then take your money and run once the tide starts to turn.
I have grown my port from 3 million to 174 million in 4 months using these strategies.
