Even though I'm not married yet, I dispute that claim.

Marriage is what both parties put into it. If they don't put much into it, or if one of the parties doesn't put anything into it but instead takes advantage of and uses the other, then it becomes, as you say, a "powerdrill to the forehead" to deal with. The main problem that results in marriages dissolving these days is that people don't understand what love really is anymore. It's a purposeful decision to put the other person first, to care for them, to help them, to be there for them when they're feeling down, etc. When both parties in a relationship realise this and those decisions and actions are mutual, the relationship blossoms. The feelings that are most commonly associated with love only come after that decision to love is made. The problem is that people rely on the feelings instead of reaffirming the decision to love that person in their hearts each day, even in spite of what may be going on at the time, and even when those feelings may not be there at all. As a result of that, when they slowly stop deciding each day to love that person and demonstrate it to them, those feelings gradually die away, and then they say that "I don't love them anymore", and look to bail on the relationship.

[RWINS] offered villian role in [NOAH] RazorHawk Jun 11, 17:38

He's playing The Rain? {nm} islander Jun 11, 17:45

Maybe the crooked contractor that Noah hires to build the ark? {nm} stevie1der328 Jun 11, 17:47

"Little Noah, Little Noah, let me in!" "Not by the gravitational pull of your drippy drip drip!" {nm} accountant_4_Jesus Jun 11, 17:47

lol {nm} Dave3626 Jun 11, 18:03

I'm actually interested in watching this movie, if only to laugh at how wrong his take is. {nm} accountant_4_Jesus Jun 11, 17:56

its probably best taken in as a fictional account of a mythological character...meaning, dont take it as gospel, its just a movie {nm} Moviesnob Jun 11, 18:03

Well I can agree with you there, because the Noah he's portraying definitely isn't the Noah of the Bible, so it is definitely a mythological accountant_4_Jesus Jun 11, 18:08

this would be a good conversation for your new forum {nm} Moviesnob Jun 11, 18:12

If only we had a board at HSX dedicated to misc. stuff, life in general......hmmm {nm} Dave3626 Jun 11, 18:14

i'm one of those people who thinks its best to keep theological debates off the hsx forums as they tend to get ugly. Same as politics {nm} Moviesnob Jun 11, 18:16

Speaking as someone who got instantly labeled a vitriolic bigot for explaining someone else's argument, yeah, I agree with you. Dave3626 Jun 11, 18:19

Well, what you said was wrong and stupid! Haha, just kidding. {nm} PRodNano Jun 11, 21:38

I realise that, and that is why even though my beliefs are a big part of who I am, for everyone else's sake on here I try to keep comments accountant_4_Jesus Jun 11, 18:21

isnt this a sci fi take on Noah? the comic book looked futuristic {nm} notfabio Jun 11, 19:08

Ever seen "Pi", Aronofsky's take on 3.14etc and Jewish mysticism? That was an ordeal. {nm} Dave3626 Jun 11, 18:06

No, I haven't seen that one. {nm} accountant_4_Jesus Jun 11, 18:08

I see you have North By Northwest on your list. Good choice. Excellent film. {nm} Dave3626 Jun 11, 18:13

I agree. :) {nm} accountant_4_Jesus Jun 11, 18:24

Don't you mean it was a powerdrill to the forehead? {nm} Paul2k Jun 11, 18:08

No. Marriage is a powerdrill to the forehead. Pi was just an ordeal. {nm} Dave3626 Jun 11, 18:10

"Pi" + "Requiem for a dream" = 2 ordeals. Or, 4.14 ordeals. second gary Jun 11, 18:18

I forgot about Requiem. Jennifer Connelly as a junkie, right? {nm} Dave3626 Jun 11, 18:20

I have forgotten it, except to say it's no "Trainspotting" and no "Jungle Fever." {nm} second gary Jun 11, 18:22

Man, I liked Pi, but Requiem was beat-you-over-the-head ordealy. {nm} Jane_Citizen Jun 11, 18:47

Even though I'm not married yet, I dispute that claim. accountant_4_Jesus Jun 11, 18:23

I agree with everything you said. Nonetheless, some of us just aren't wired for it :-) {nm} Dave3626 Jun 12, 05:19

Was the Pi caramel-flavoured? ;-) {nm} accountant_4_Jesus Jun 11, 18:51

The villain is God. He's the one causing the flood and murdering the entire world. {nm} elchan Jun 11, 18:19

Um, no. {nm} accountant_4_Jesus Jun 11, 18:24

It's only a movie. ;-) {nm} elchan Jun 11, 18:31

There were crooked men who spited Noah for his decision to build the ark. That's who I assume Winstone's playing. [assumption] {nm} chosenone2oo5 Jun 13, 09:53
