The 1st trailer seems to be saying that, as she starts accessing more parts of her brain, she fears she's becoming less human.
Perhaps, as indicated by her lack of emotions post-drug, her sense of morality has changed and she is more robotic. If that's the case, she would be less of a "hero" character, and not so much an "anti-hero" (and we've seen plenty of anti-heroes shoot innocents), but perhaps something closer to HAL or the AI in "I Robot", willing to harm others, even innocents, to achieve her goals (something loftier, or maybe just self-preservation).
Maybe Jason Bourne before he got a conscience?
