Holy cow!
I was prepared to be a little underwhelmed to be honest. The glowing reviews, and I'm just expecting another Mad Max film, and Thunderdome sort of left me unfilfilled.Ā
No. Was I ever wrong.
The action in this thing is a complete revelation. And it's serving a primal, basic story that's so very well told. I couldn't even believe how much I enjoyed it. I had a huge smile on my face all thew ay through this thing. I kept saying to myself, "well, I've never seen anything like this before".
This movie is bat sh*t crazy! And I mean that in a good way, in a GREAT way.
Both Hardy and Charleze Theron are mythic in this thing. Good lord are they great in this or what.
The question I have to ask: What about the 3D in this? Is that the way to go? I freely admit I saw it at my local theater here in North Orange County, 2d. Should I go off to the largest IMAX screen I can find and should I look for the largest 3D theater or what?
Man, I have not had a rush like this since frigging Birdman or Whiplash. I loved this, perhaps more than both of those flicks.
Kudos to Mr. Miller. He's truly an artist, this is action film making art.
