boy I'm not looking to argue, but nobody talks about the female films that are made and do well it seems.
Miracles from Heaven is a movie that is heavy female and minority. there are many scenes with just females having conversations, females having scenes with other female minorities, and females having scenes with other male minorities.
now I can speak to this film as being a favorite of mine, but it's a tear jerker. I actually got forced to see this opening weekend and immediately knew it would have legs.
$13M budget and nearing $60M now.
you can say the religious crowd pushed it, but I don't go to church and I recommended to people I thought would enjoy it. for all the films it seems Hollywood doesn't make heavily loaded with females and minorities, I wish people would credit the ones they do make.
what was that stat several years back about films that never see scenes with a female talking to another film for a length of time? this film went against the grain, but in fairness it did follow Miracles from Heaven (just didn't need males to push it to be successful).
