I hope to see this soon. I wasn't "sold" on this remake as I have strangely fond memories of the original, having watched it on Wonderful

World of Disney back in the 80's. But the idea of having David Lowery behind this was really intriguing. And then the AV Club gave this a glowing review (the headline is "Pete's Dragon breathes poetic life into a forgotten Disney dud"), and that stoked my desire. Now, a lovely writeup from our resident curmudgeon with a cuddly heart. I'm sold.

And hopefully I can share this with my four-year-old daughter in a few years when her cinematic anxieties quiet down, and she can handle conflict in film without loudly shouting in the theater "I don't want this!"
