"Storm Reid"? Clever word play there, but we know that she's really REED RICHARDS from the Fantastic Four!
Obviously, Dr Richards used his stretchy abilities to morph himself into the shape of an adolescent girl so that he could...um...something something Negative Zone. Anyways, to confuse the likes of Dr Doom or the Mole Man, he changed his name, using the last name of Sue Storm, and slightly altering the spelling of his own first name. And to further throw his enemies off the scent, he chose the form of an African American girl to make them think he might be the mutant weather witch, Ororo "Storm" Munro. That tricksy Richards, always with an ace up his sleeve.
