50SHD: My wife has infected my Kindle!!
I've got a couple different novels going on at the same time on my Kindle. Here's what I'm currently reading:
1. Blood Meridian by Cormac McCarthy: Reading it again. It's HUGE.
2. A Clash of Kings (Game of Thrones Book 2). Really enjoying it.
3. 11/22/63. This is a fabulous read; great entertainment from King.
And so, what does my wife do? She puts 50 Shades of Grey on there. Every time she goes in and uses the device, this book goes back to the number 1 position on my kindle.
So the other day I go ahead and open this up, to take a look. It seems like every female in America talks about this book. This is one of those books that have become a pop culture phenomenon, causing people to actually read a book.
And all I can say is: What a piece of garbage. This is written at the level of a 9th grader. It is pure junk.
Honestly I wasn't expecting anything more. If everybody is reading it, the odds are it's going to be lousy. But this is extremely bad.
Obviously this will be a huge hit on opening weekend whenever it opens. The idiots will come out in droves.

Read it and moved on to Game of Thrones which amid the double crossing seems to have more sex than Sep 02, 11:03
