By acquiring Russell, they now have 3 of the consensus top 15 (if not top 10) prospects in all of baseball. Yes, having the prospects is one thing, developing them is another; but you hedge your bets by getting as many top notch prospects as you can. If you can develop at least 1 or 2 to be stars and a few more to be good regulars, you're doing a pretty good job.
