Description
Formerly known as Dancer, Billy Elliot is the story of a poor 11-year-old boy from a coal mining town who wants to enter the National Ballet School in England. He secretly drops his boxing lessons for ballet to pursue his dream. Premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, Billy Elliot has drawn comparison to The Full Monty for its uplifting spirit.
Universal will distribute the film starring Jamie Bell as Billy and Julia Walters as the ballet instructor. THis is director Stephen Daldry's feature debut from a script by Lee Hall.
