Description
Blue Car is the feature film debut of writer/director Karen Moncrieff. Newcomer Agnes Bruckner plays an 18-year-old girl named Meg who takes refuge from her broken family by writing poetry. Dealing with her father's abandonment, Meg has a hard time connecting with her stressed mother and emotionally distant sister. Encouraged by her English teacher, Meg wants to compete in a poetry competition that takes place in Florida. But her plans may be thwarted as tension at home threatens to keep her from going to the event. Regan Arnold, A.J. Buckley, David Strathairn, and Frances Fisher co-star. Miramax picked up the film for distribution.
