Description
George Clooney plays the leader of three escapees who bust loose from a Mississippi chain gang in the 1930s in this Southern-fried adaptation of Homer's "The Odyssey". The three cons embark on a wild and adventurous journey as they try to return home to freedom while trying to bamboozle a clever lawman who is hot on their trail. The always-entertaining Coen brothers are in charge here with Joel handling directing duties, while he and his brother Ethan are co-writers of the screenplay. This big budget comedy should prove to further enhance the Coen brothers ability to produce the best in quirky, comedy magic. Other actors joining Clooney in the film include John Goodman, Tim Blake Nelson, Holly Hunter, Michael Badalucco, Charles Durning, Wayne Duval, and John Turturro.
