Description
Adapted from the provocative stage play The Compleat Female Stage Beauty, the film details the life of an actor named Edward Kynaston in 1661 London who makes a career of playing women's roles. Trials arise when King Charles II bans cross-gender performances. Jeffrey Hatcher adapts his own play for screen. Richard Eyre (Iris) will direct.
