Description
Camryn Manheim is a respected actress who's also struck a blow for the acceptance in Hollywood of actresses who don't have either the starving waif or Barbie doll body types. The admittedly overweight Manheim won an Emmy in 1998 for Best Supporting Actress for her role as a lawyer in the acclaimed TV series The Practice.
After graduating with a Masters in Fine Arts from New York University, Manheim made her film debut in the disappointing 1990 adaptation of the Tom Wolfe novel Bonfire of the Vanities. Manheim had a supporting role in 1997's Romy and Michele's High School Reunion before getting the role in The Practice. Manheim has since parlayed her TV success into film roles such as the two 1999 Sundance Festival features Fools Gold and Joe the King.
