Description
The Cat's Meow chronicles the real life story of a scandalous murder of a Hollywood player and its subsequent cover-up during the 1920s. The murder occurred abroad the yacht of publishing tycoon William Randolph Hearst. Jennifer Tilly will play gossip columnist Louella Parsons, while Kirsten Dunst plays Marion Davies and Eddie Izzard plays Charlie Chaplin. Director Peter Bogdanocivh (Texasville) takes helm of the production which began November 2000.
Distributor Lion's Gate is lining up the film for a December 2001 release during award film season. The Cat's Meow shares similar themes with God and Monsters and Shadow of the Vampire, two other releases from Lion's Gate.
