Description
Colin Firth, Rachel Weisz, Susan Sarandon and Ian McKellan star in the colonial drama The Colossus. Set at the turn of the 20th Century, an ornithologist is hired to transport English songbirds to a deposed Prime Minister in South Africa and gets tangled in a plot to stop the Boer War. He also falls in love with a fiery political activist at the center of the plot. Sean Mathias directs and adapts Ann Harries' novel, which is a fictionalized story set against the backdrop of real events.
