Description
Based on the book by George Crile, Charlie Wilson's War tells the story of former Texas congressman Charlie Wilson who persuaded the CIA to arm and train resistance soldiers in Afghanistan to fight against the invasion by the Soviet Union. The success of the Mujahadeen hastened the fall of the Soviet Empire. Tom Hanks plays the lead for Playtone and Universal Pictures.
