Description
A relative late-comer to acting, Danny Glover began to take an interest in the stage at age 28, with a few roles in local theater. Upon moving to Los Angeles to pursue acting as a career, Glover continued to find success, and in 1980, had a chance to take a role in the pilot of Hill Street Blues. Since he was already committed to a stage play, however, Glover declined his chance to break into television. But Glover's good karma would eventually work in his favor. Not only did he land a small recurring role on Hill Street Blues one year later, but his performance in the stage play earned him a lead on Broadway, which lead to his film debut in 1984's Places in the Heart. Glover's career exploded the next year, with roles in the 1985 films The Color Purple, Witness and Silverado. In 1987, Glover teamed up with Mel Gibson in Lethal Weapon, which has since spawned three sequels.
