Description
Although Gillian Anderson had refused television work early in her career, she auditioned for The X-Files pilot at the insistence of her agent. Shortly thereafter, Anderson found herself at the center of a massive cult following. With a core audience of devoted fans, The X-Files made the jump to the big screen in 1998, grossing $83 million at the summer box office.
