Description
London East End native Guy Ritchie was a movie buff growing up, with Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid making an especially deep impression. Ritchie did all kinds of odd jobs to try to break into filmmaking, progressing from a lowly runner to a director of commercials and music videos. His debut effort in 1998, Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, put him on the map. In 2000, Ritchie wrote and directed the crime thriller Snatch.
