Description

Hector Elizondo has spent the last 30 years of his life performing both on stage and screen. His career began as a dancer trained at the Ballet Arts school of Carnegie Hall, and then moved to the Actors Studio. His first major role was in "Thieves" in 1977. In 1982 Elizondo landed a role in the Garry Marshall directed "Young Doctors in Love". Marshall and Elizondo got along extremely well both personally and professionally and since then Elizondo has appeared in all of Marshall's films excepting 1988's "Beaches".

Those roles have included Matt Dillon's father in "The Flamingo Kid", the cafe owner in "Frankie and Johnny" and most memorably Barney, the hotel concierge, in "Pretty Woman". Elizondo has continued to fill roles on the big screen but the majority of his time in the recent past has been playing the role of Dr. Phillip Waters on "Chicago Hope".

Elizondo looks to team again with Marshall and "Pretty Woman" co-stars Julia Roberts (JROBE) and Richard Gere (RGERE) in "Runaway Bride".
