Description
Holly Hunter first snagged the limelight as the center of several offbeat plays including The Miss Firecracker Contest and Crime of the Heart. In 1981, she made her feature film debut in the hokey slasher flick, The Burning. It wasn't until 1987 that Hunter got the attention of Hollywood with a starring role in the Coen brothers' comedy Raising Arizona. This led to other starring roles in movies such as Broadcast News, opposite William Hurt and Albert Brooks, and Steven Spielberg's Always with Richard Dreyfuss. In 1993, Hunter starred in The Piano and received an Oscar for her efforts. She has since starred in David Cronenberg's Crash and Joel Coen's O Brother, Where Art Thou?.
