Description
Perhaps the most famous voice in movie history, James Earl Jones' menacing baritone has come to personify Darth Vader. Although Jones never graces the big screen in any of the Star Wars movies, his breath-heavy over-dub is an ingenious bit of casting in its own right. Jones began acting while at the University of Michigan and soon made the jump to Broadway in 1957. Jones won his first Tony Award for his work in The Great White Hope, and reprised his role in the 1970 film, earning an Oscar nomination. Jones has various supporting roles to his credit, and has starred in a wide range of films. In addition to his voice contribution in the Star Wars movies, Jones has appeared in such films as 1989's Field of Dreams and 1990's The Hunt for Red October.
