The German film John Rabe is about the businessman who saved 200,000 Chinese during the Nanjing Massacre. When the Japanese attacked the city in 1937, Rabe let refugees into the Siemens China Company which displayed a Nazi German flag, an ally of the Japanese. Written and directed by Florian Gallenberger, the film stars Ulrich Tukur in the title role, Daniel Bruhl, Steve Buscemi, Anne Consigny and Dagmar Manzel.
