Description
Having just two films to his credit in 1998, James Van Der Beek became an instant celebrity when he landed a lead role on the TV series Dawson's Creek. The young actor, who got his start doing community theater, quickly parlayed his television success into a lead role in the 1999 teen flick Varsity Blues. Van Der Beek played a high school football player in the movie, and helped the modestly budgeted film earn $52 million at the box office.
Expect James to tame the wild, wild west next in Texas Rangers where he will play the leader of a group of Civil War heroes out to round up the west's worst criminals. Think of it as "Cops" circa 1870.
