Description
Best known for her Emmy-winning role on the long-running sitcom Cheers, Kirstie Alley made her film debut as a Vulcan in 1982's Star Trek II. A few lesser known movies would bridge the gap between Star Trek and Alley's eventual break on Cheers, but with her high-profile role on the Thursday night sitcom, Alley soon landed roles in much more noteworthy movies. In 1989, two years after she landed the plum role of Rebecca Howe, Alley starred in the first movie of the Look Who's Talking franchise. The film grossed $140 million at the box office, although the second two films each grossed considerably less. Since Cheers left the air in 1993, Alley's career has hit a bit of a slump, although her turn in 1997's Deconstructing Harry was a definite high note.
