Description
The daughter of BBC comedian Richard Beckinsale, Kate received her big break when she was cast as Hero in Kenneth Branagh's Much To Do About Nothing. She began taking occasional roles while a student at Oxford. In 1994, after three years of study, Kate dropped out of school and began to pursue an acting career full time. In 1995, she received critical acclaim in the movie Cold Comfort Farm opposite Stephen Fry. This led to leading roles in the movies The Last Days of Disco, Pearl Harbor. and Serendipity.
