Chilean-born Leonor Varela beat out 35 other actresses for the lead in the television miniseries Cleopatra, which also starred Billy Zane. With an ability to speak five languages and her exotic looks, Varela has become a hot commodity. In 2001, she appears in The Tailor of Panama and in Texas Rangers. Varela will next star in Blade 2.
