Description
State and Main chronicles a small, movie-savvy town in New England, which becomes the location for a film shoot. The David Mamet-penned comedy features an ensemble cast that includes Alec Baldwin, Sarah Jessica Parker, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, and William H. Macy. One of America's most respected and prolific screenwriters, Mamet has screen credits for such films as 1997's Wag the Dog, 1992's Glengarry Glen Ross and 1981's The Postman Always Rings Twice.
Mamet is also a noted American playwright whose marvelous work includes American Buffalo, Sexual Perversity in Chicago and Speed-the-Plow. As a film director, Mamet has helmed several of his own scripts, including Things Change in 1988, 1997's The Spanish Prisoner and 1999's The Winslow Boy.
