Description
Based on the best-selling memoir of Li Cunxin, Mao�s Last Dancer follows Li, a real-life ballet dancer who started his career at the Beijing Dance Academy, run by Chairman Mao�s wife. Li defected to the West and danced ballet in Houston and Australia. Kyle Maclachlan plays Li's attorney while Joan Chen plays his mother. Bruce Beresford (Driving Miss Daisy) directs the film adapted by Jan Sardi.
