Description
Matthew Settle stars as Matt Curtis in the teen thriller The In Crowd. He portrays a pro tennis player, who is the boyfriend of a girl vowed to protect the secrecy of her inner circle of friends.
Settle is the son of a Baptist preacher and was raised in Hickory, North Carolina. While selling records at Dollywood (Dolly Parton's theme park in Tennessee), he got his start in show business. Matthew was able to attend a New York acting school thanks to Jay Julian, a lawyer who also represents Robert De Niro.
By 1996, Settle was able to get into television. He appeared on the made for TV movie Shaughnessy as an Irish American who decides to move from New York to the West. He continued his work on other TV movies during the next couple of years, including such movies as What Happened to Bobby Earlin 1997, and on HBO's Lansky in 1999.
The actor was able to break into movies in 1998. He played Will Benson in the teen horror sequel I Still Know What You Did Last Summer. Settlecan currently be seen in the World War II action drama U-571. He will also be seen in the upcoming film Stalk, a sex-driven drama expected to be released later this year.
