Description
The biopic drama Mavericks depicts Jay Moriarty, the late surfer who inspired the world when he took on the treacherous Northern California waves known as the Mavericks. The film explored the close bond he formed with his surfer mentor Frosty Hesson, played by Gerard Butler. Moriarty died in a freak diving accident in the Maldives in 2001. Curtis Hanson directs for Walden Media. Brandon Hooper wrote the script.
