Description
Based on the serialized novel by Stephen King, The Green Mile chronicles the lives of prisoners and guards and their complex relationship in a 1930's prison.
The guards must struggle with a moral dilemma when they discover one of their death row inmates has the power to heal. Tom Hanks plays the head prison guard, and central figure in the story.
The ensemble cast features David Morse , Doug Hutchison, Michael Jeter, Sam Rockwell, Graham Greene, and Michael Clarke Duncan.
The Green Mile was adapted and directed by Frank Darabont, who also adapted and directed another of Stephen King prison story, 1994's The Shawshank Redemption.
Published in 1996, "The Green Mile" won the Bram Stoker Award for Best Novel.
