Description
A grim subject and a fascinating personality are at the center of the IFC Films drama Pierrepoint. Tim Spall plays Albert Pierrepoint, the foremost executioner in Britain from 1934 until his resignation in 1956. Pierrepoint hung more than 600 men and women, not questioning their crime or innocence, only rendering the death penalty. He also treated the dead with the utmost of respect. The film takes a look the man’s life to the moment when he finally questions the life he has led. Clive Francis, Juliet Stevenson and Eddie Marsan co-starred in the film directed by Adrian Shergold.
