Description
Better known as Pee-Wee Herman than as Paul Reubens, the New York-born comedian began his career with the Los Angeles-based comedy troupe, The Groundlings. During the early 80's, Ruebens began to develop a following, culminating in a sold-out performance at Carnegie Hall in 1984. Reubens took his act to the big screen in 1985 with Pee-Wee's Big Adventure, and following year, Reubens parlayed his success into the Saturday morning show Pee-Wee's Playhouse. Pee-Wee's rise to fame ended abruptly in 1991, however, following Reubens' arrest for lewd behavior. Reubens has since abandoned his alter-ego. His recent film efforts include Matilda, Blow, and Teacher's Pet.
