Description
Robert Duvall made his feature film debut as the heroic recluse Boo Radley in the motion picture classic To Kill a Mockingbird. This led to a score of leading roles in movies such as True Grit, MASH, and Lawman. In 1972, Robert Duvall was nominated for an Academy Award for his work in The Godfather. Although he did not win, the part of Tom Hagen became a signiture role for Duvall. Duvall continued to choose poignant and memorable roles in movies such as Network, Apocalypse Now, and The Great Santini. In 1983, Duvall won the Oscar for the role of Mac Sledge in Tender Mercies. In 1997, he was nominated again for the role of Euliss "Sonny" Dewey in The Apostle.
