Description
As a former child actor and one of Hollywood's most bankable directors, Ron Howard has been working in Hollywood for over forty years. Although TV syndication has guaranteed that Howard will never completely separate his real-life persona from that of Opie Taylor and Richie Cunningham, Howard's work behind the camera has definitely established a new identity with producers. In 1984, Howard helmed his break-through film, Splash, which became Disney's highest-grossing live-action film. With successful follow-ups such as 1985's Cocoon and 1989's Parenthood, Howard demonstrated his ability to direct in a wide range of genres. Howard's recent efforts include 1995's Apollo 13 and 1999's EdTV.
