Description
Acclaimed Polish filmmaker Roman Polanski has a checkered past, marked by professional highs and personal lows. In 1969, following the success of Rosemary's Baby (1968), Polanski's pregnant wife Sharon Tate was brutally murdered by the infamous Manson cult, prompting the director's return to Europe for several years. Then, after returning to America where he created such classics as Chinatown (1974) and Tess (1979), the director was convicted of statutory rape of a 13-year-old girl. To escape incarceration, Polanski fled to Europe and still cannot enter the US or he will be arrested.
