Description
Born in Ireland and raised in New Zealand, Sam Neill got his start in show biz with a small theater group called the New Zealand players. During this time he also worked as a jack-of-all-trades for the New Zealand National Film Unit. In 1977, Neill made his motion picture debut with the movie Sleeping Dogs. In an effort to boost his career, Neill moved of Australia where he starred in My Brilliant Career and The Journalist. In 1981, Neill was cast as the lead in The Final Conflict. During the '80s, Neill recieved built up his resume with roles in The Good Wife, Dead Calm, and A Cry in the Dark. In 1993, Neill starred in the Oscar-winning The Piano and the blockbuster hit Jurassic Park. The movie made him a major star in Hollywood and a box-office draw. He has since starred in Event Horizon, Bicentennial Man, and Jurassic Park 3.
