Description
The Australian film Swimming Upstream is based on the real life story of champion swimmer, Tony Fingleton. The story depicts his childhood with an abusive father, who pitted Tony against his brother John, and a mother dealing with her husband's alcoholism and overbearing moods. Geoffrey Rush and Judy Davis play the parents. Russell Mulcahy directs with a script adapted from Fingleton's autobiography.
