Description
In a small town in Texas, Bud Kilmer (Jon Voight) has coached the West Canaan Coyotes every Friday night. For 35 years, he has been considered a god by 17-year-old schoolboys and the entire community. In the process of going for their 23rd division title, the star quarterback Lance Harbor (Paul Walker) suffers an injury that forces him out of the game. Feelings of woe and worry arise when the Coyotes are compelled to regroup under the second-string quarterback John Moxon (James Van Der Beek). John does not carry the same value system for football that the rest of his team does; some even consider him irreverent of the game. This film delves into our obsession with sports, and how teenage athletes respond to these pressures.
