Description
The pop animated film Waking Life is the latest from independent writer-director Richard Linklater (Dazed and Confused). The animation is actually drawn over the live action footage of the actors including Willie Wiggins, Julie Delpy, and Ethan Hawke. Waking Life is the story of a man named Wiggins who walks through what is perceived to be a dream. He flows in and out of scenarios where he encounters strange people and circumstances. The live-action footage for Waking Life was shot in New York and the "rotoscoping" animation will be done at LineResearch animation, IFC Productions and Thousand Words in Austin, Texas. The resulting image adds a dream-like surreal quality to the picture.
