Trailer for Bright Star

English poet John Keats gets the biopic treatment in Bright Star [BRSTR].  Ben Whishaw [BWHIS] stars as the 19th century Romantic era poet who has a doomed love affair with Fanny Brawne, played by Abbie Cornish.  Not another film about "an artist and his muse", you may have sighed. However, Bright Star is directed by Jane Campion [JCAMP] who is capable of elevating the story above the usual cliches.   Bright Star premiered at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival and has been cited by many as a contender come award season.  

Bright Star will be the first film released by Bob Berney and William Pohlad's new distribution company on September 18th.
