Universal has released the teaser trailer for Robin Hood [RBNHD] at Apple. The film was originally conceived as a revisionist take on the legendary outlaw of Sherwood Forest with Russell Crowe [RCROW] starring as a heroic Sherriff of Nottingham. Several revisions later, Crowe is playing Robin Hood in a straight forward retelling of the same old story. No one was asking for another Robin Hood seen countless times on film and TV, even if it is directed by Ridley Scott [RSCOT]. Judging by the trailer, the film seems utterly generic with emphasis on the action, accompanied by heavy metal music. Let's hope the film turns out better than his last medieval action adventure, Kingdom of Heaven. Robin Hood is currently set for release on May 14th, 2010, though Universal doesn't seem confident on the exact date, ending the trailer with "Coming 2010".
