At this distance, I don't think there is a large 1982 fanbase to alienate (and dampen OW). What steps STID takes in the alt-universe...

... towards a new game with old chess pieces I think work well. But there is also an ADD-like inattention, and a disinterest in consequences which is fatiguing in STID.

I don't mean, btw, that "The Wrath of Khan" has no advocates, only that demographically this group is <<< than the audience needed to get to 100 OW.

Trek IV in 1986, adjusted, made almost as much as the 2009 movie. Many kids grew up watching Trek in the 70s. They ain't dead yet. {nm} KalElFan May 18, 11:34
