STORY: Reggie Dwight is an unassuming, shy boy from Pinner, London whose life is transformed when he is first put in front of the piano as 5 year old. Reggie's immense talent leads him to the Royal Academy of Music and later, as he pushes his awkward insecure younger self to one side, to a desire to be a Rock and Roll legend as he renames himself Elton John. Through a chance encounter with young poet Bernie Taupin, Elton formed one of the most prolific musical partnerships of all time, and together with his talent and drive, led him to huge global success. His life became one of excess on and off the stage, with Elton pushing every boundary whilst, never reconciling who he wants to be with the child he believed he was. Eventually, his crazy world implodes and he is forced to stop running away from Reggie and to literally face up to his self-image. Rocketman is a fantasy-inspired re-telling of Elton's story where reality is skewed by an excess world and choreographed musical sequences. But ultimately it is the story of a boy and love.
