This is why I hate the 4th of July in terms of box office..

You never know what's going to happen and it all depends on what day of the week it happens. Certainly, it's the only time of the year except maybe Good Friday where Saturday is lower than Friday and that's only cause it took place on a Saturday (and it was a beautiful day in many places)... but in 1998, the last time the holiday  fell on a Saturday, everything dropped only 20% and then the movies only rebounded about 8 to 13% on Sunday, though this was also before heavier frontloading... so not sure what that means really. Transformers dropped a lot more yesterday according to Nikki than Armageddon did. Guess we'll know soon enough when official estimates come in.
