Interesting insight from a trading perspective. I know a lot of people on here fancy themselves as movie buffs and believe they can parlay..

this knowledge into predicting box office outcomes and that Cantor in turn sell this information on. However it only took me a matter of months to realise that being successful on HSX required no specialist knowledge, in fact in many cases it is a hinderance, merely an ability to evaluate stock momentum and react accordingly. As far as the slowdown on the site is concerned, the main problem seems to be bottlenecking when the servers appear unable to handle the volume of trade. This would explain the delay on the increased volume around reset and also the slowdown when a news related post appears and there is a lag before the trade is filled. I am doubtful it is caused by low volume trading as other non-trade related areas of the site appear to freeze up at the same time.

B-R-U-T-A-L. Worst That It Has Been In Months. 7 Of The Last 10 RESETS Have Struggled Badly. {nm} RotoHockey2013Main Port Apr 26, 01:45

For somebody that has an awful lot to say Antibody has been very quiet on the subject of how the site actually functions. {nm} hyperzeitgeist Apr 26, 02:13

ROTO - Maybe you should sleep during resets from now on. LOL {nm} Quickslver99 Apr 26, 06:05

What's been going on with the resets? {nm} HurricaneKid Apr 26, 06:09

That's a real shame the flaw in the game you exploit while everyone else is sleeping hasn't paid off for you seven of the last 1000+ days. {nm} journey Apr 26, 06:43

Exactly. {nm} second gary Apr 26, 06:55

Can't speak for anyone else but I'm not sleeping at 8am. But maybe they should close the site when it doesn't suit you. {nm} hyperzeitgeist Apr 26, 06:59

BTW: The 'flaw' in the game is that it doesn't work properly, not how people play it. {nm} hyperzeitgeist Apr 26, 07:01

F-R-E-E. This game is. The uptime for this entire site is pretty remarkable for a skeleton staff and oh yeah, it's FREE to play. {nm} Initech Apr 26, 07:29

Frankly I'd rather pay for something that worked properly... hyperzeitgeist Apr 26, 07:58

So the flaw is that once in a very very long while reset traders are inconvenienced? Seriously? {nm} second gary Apr 26, 08:53

Except it's not "once in a very long while". Of late, it's almost every day...and it's not just around reset. Obviously you're not an active hyperzeitgeist Apr 26, 09:01

If this game is so poorly run and such a chore to play, why do you bother? {nm} Initech Apr 26, 10:00

Because it can be better and nothing ever improves if you don't point out the deficiences... hyperzeitgeist Apr 26, 10:14

trading on movie futures was banned by the senate in 2010 and Cantor made a public statement saying they had abandoned their efforts Moviesnob Apr 26, 10:23

well you can either continue to complain like a child, be patient while they fix it, or just deal with it as a new reality Moviesnob Apr 26, 10:02

As a retired avid reset trader, the reset trading aspect of the site has nothing to do with actual values of stocks and thus nothing to do Catzan Apr 26, 10:06

I'm not a hyperactive trader, no. But I trade every day, never at reset, and do not encounter the problems you allege. {nm} second gary Apr 26, 09:09

The day this site become pay-site is the day I would quit. Yes it has problems, but there is not annoying ads and it's free so I can live {nm} JDolphin Apr 26, 11:28
