SEAST took off from filming Fast 8 last week to do Suicide Squad press.
Sunday night he partied all night in Las Vegas which would have made him drunk/hung over and in the wrong city to film Fast 8 on Monday morning. (link)
That probally delayed filming and SEAST probally gave some lame excuse (even though his photos are posted all over the internet).

Last week an interview article with Scott Eastwood and Clint Eastwood came out in Esquire where "candy asses" was mentioned.
"The ones that don't are too chicken s*** to do anything about it anyway. Candy asses."

Reminder: the last Fast & Furious movie, Paul Walker died driving (in the car as a passenger) too fast which caused the production to be massively delayed and the movie had to be rewritten, and the Rock's part was greatly reduced in Furious 7 because the delays caused scheduling conflicts with his many other projects and he had to move on.
