This is supposed to make me believe 47MDW won't be a massive flop? All I see are is a bunch of movies that have made next to nothing.
God's Not Dead is the exception, but that had more to do with the Christian churches hyping the movie than any kind of marketing the Studio did.
Here's what I will say, if 47 Meters Down does actually end up getting 3500 screens, it will without a doubt set the record for the worst opening for a release in 3500+ screens. Charlotte's Web is the current record holder with $11.457 million opening weekend. The worst for a 3000+ screen opening is Hoot with $3.368 million. I doubt 47MDW would do worse than that, but I also wouldn't bet against it.
